Happy Wednesday from Grand Central Chaos—I’m drinking down a third strong cup and getting a few things done around the estate, none of which involve plumbing, thankfully. Just a short word here to tell you what I’ll be up to over the next few days, and beyond.
This weekend I’ll be playing the 30-A Songwriters Festival, down on the Gulf coast of Florida. My second consecutive year, I’m really excited to be starting out the touring year in such a good way. It’s a fantastic line-up (I’d say that even if I weren’t on the bill); check out the schedule here. Last I heard there were still a limited number of tickets available, but they go fast. One of the great things about the 30-A Fest is that they don’t oversell it—so although venues may be full, it’s not jam-packed—which keeps the vibe suitably mellow, both for the audience and the performers. I’m playing this Friday evening at The Hub at 6pm, and again on Saturday morning at Jeff Black’s “Hair of the Dog Hoot” at Bud & Alley’s at 11am. Details on the 30-A site and on my tour page and bandsintown listings.
Plans and “conspirations” are being made—I have a new record in the works, in the early pre-production phase, specifically. Which means: a lot of talking, a lot of listening, and shrewd appraisal of what is ready and what is not. And inevitably more writing. The sound of blades being sharpened. And some less-than-tuneful howling. All towards the big goal. Stay tuned….
