Before I load out

and head over to Atlanta (Lawrenceville) for the final show of a nearly three-week Southern odyssey/search-for-gainful-employment, I thought I’d pour another cup of coffee here in Birmingham and say thanks to all of you I’ve encountered on this trip who’ve fed me/lodged me/presented me at your venues/attended a show. It’s been a great ride, and I could not do this without you. The van continues to roll(251K miles and counting), thankfully, though the mysterious front-end wobble also continues . . . to date I’ve spent $1700 dollars in vain over the course of 3 months trying to get it fixed. Fun!

I realize that I haven’t yet posted “part 2” of my SXSW journal–I’ll be working on that over the next few days.

Playing a Bowman House Concert in Lawrenceville GA tonight–there might still be a few tickets left, though availability was down to the single digits last time I checked. Click the link above for contact info, etc.  Back to Nashville tomorrow for some time off the road, though not “off”. It’s time to make another record! Going to visit my fortune teller to attempt to see how this might actually happen. Details forthcoming.

And in case you haven’t heard, I’ll be headlining the Lagniappe stage at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on Saturday, May 4, 5:15 pm! Come on down!
