Well here we are in the thick of it: Spiritual celebrations and manic consumerism go together like cinnamon and sugar, or so it seems. Of course I’m behind schedule! What else would you expect from a fella who strums guitars and stares out the window til the words come? But I’m on it–doing some shopping for gifts, and shipping out plenty of merch to sponsors and others who’ve placed mail orders. The mailroom elf is one busy mo-fo. But I am grateful for this busyness, and business. Been putting a lot of these LPs in boxes lately:
UPDATED PAYPAL SHIPPING OPTIONS: We’ve recently expanded the shipping options for items you order from kevingordon.net, to include faster modes of delivery, including USPS Priority Mail, and Express Mail. Still not sure we’ve got things quite right; if your shipping charge is substantially beyond the actual cost of postage, we’ll refund the difference. Please note that if you choose “Standard” shipping for vinyl LPs, these are mailed via USPS Media Mail, so they might take a few days longer to get to you. Because of the weight of the package (20 oz. per one LP in a box), first-class package service isn’t an option. We will be shipping until 12 pm CST on Saturday, December 22. If you have any questions about ordering/shipping/etc., please email me: kevingordonmusic@gmail.com
Year-end Lists: The latest release, Tilt and Shine, has garnered some nice year-end praise. In Paste’s Top Ten Roots & Blues Albums of 2018, T & S came in at number TWO! The mighty WMOT listed the record as one of the most outstanding and notable releases of the year. Other lists have included T & S as well, including Viola Krouse’s Top 40 Americana list at Making A Scene. I’m thankful to everyone who’s taken the time to listen the record, and pick up on what we’re puttin’ down.
Further on: Starting out the new year’s shows with a guest slot at Michael Dinallo’s Crooked Songs Series, on Wednesday, January 9, at Betty’s here in Nashville. I’ll be playing guitar in the backing band for at least some of the other artists on the bill, and doing a few of my own. I’m thrilled to be performing once again at the 10th Annual 30-A Songwriters Festival, down in Florida, the next weekend, January 18-20. This is one of my favorite places to be, and to play. More info forthcoming on these shows and others, including an appearance on Thacker Mountain Radio, and a string of just-added shows with Todd Snider in February.
Making a run to the P.O., along with everyone else in town; gotta leave it here with you for now. Have a great week! I’ll check in again soon.
