Happy Saturday—

I’m writing this off-line while waiting for my web server based somewhere in the rubble of Afghanistan (or so it seems) to come back up and behave.

TWO big shows this week, count ‘em, TWO! Both under-publicized by yours truly (another bad case of shoot-self-in-foot disease), but both are shows I am thrilled about:

Wednesday, March 30: Bluebird Cafe, Nashville TN 8:30 pm

Thursday, March 31: White Horse, Black Mountain, Black Mountain NC 7:30 pm

These are both duo shows with my good friend, the phenomenal Ray Bonneville, whom I started sitting in with during SXSW in 2015, and we carried the idea forward this time around too.

PLEASE try to make it to one of these shows if you are ableRay is one of my very favorite singers,  songwriters, guitarists, and harmonica players anywhere. It’s a “groove thing”, and I sure enjoy playing his songs and “digging a trench” as he puts it. We’ll be trading songs and playing along on each other’s stuff. Gonna be big fun—hope you can make it!

In other news, in that slow-moving time zone known as the “vinyl world”, we have received the 2nd round of test pressings for the vinyl issue of Long Gone Time. Hopefully they will sound great and we can at last move forward with manufacturing. Thank you thank you thank you for your continued patience!

Sometimes I ask people what they’re reading. Sometimes they answer. Sometimes I get asked; sometimes I answer. So, here ya go:

Edward O. Wilson, Letters to a Young Scientist

Karl Ove Knausgaard, My Struggle (book 3)

Suzanne Gardinier, Today: 101 Ghazals

Frank Stanford, What About This: Collected Poems of Frank Stanford

Okay, I’m gonna get out in the bright sunshine and tear something up! Have a good weekend–

Kevin
