Good morning from West Monroe, LA–the “all music” guide will still try to tell you I was born here, but they are still mistaken. My birthplace was Shreveport; I did most of my growing up across the river from here, in Monroe.
Had a great time, especially the first set, last night at my home away from home, Enoch’s Pub. Thanks to all of you who came out, bought records, and listened. So good to see so many old friends, and make some new ones.
One of the videos Steph Graham and I recorded for a Folk Alley session recently is now being featured at NPR Music: http://n.pr/1jFE0rE FYI, the version of this song recorded for the Long Gone Time record is NOT available on the download–it’s only on the CD version, and will be on the forthcoming vinyl double-LP. You can find the CD here:
Closing out the run tonight opening for Shinyribs at Spirits in Alexandria, LA–hope to see you there. Next week, I’m back out with the band, playing FitzGerald’s in Berwyn IL on Friday 12/11, and The Mill in Iowa City, IA on Saturday 12/12.
