September Update: Bandcamp Friday, Shows and Sounds

Greetings, friends,
Happy September 1 . . . always feels like a heady transition to me . . . though the pesky summer heat remains. Whether you have big plans, small plans, or no plans (p’raps my personal favorite), I hope you have a safe and healthy holiday weekend. Now, to the news:

Bandcamp Friday TODAY

Yes, it’s your King of the Late Notice here, to let you know that today is Bandcamp Friday–when the Bandcamp folks waive their usual cut so as to put a little more green in our jeans. You can find my wares here:

https://kevingordon.bandcamp.com/

Bandcamp Exclusive: There’s a new Down to the Well bundle available–for a discounted price, you get a physical CD of the Well album, along with the digital album (Down to the Well: Solo Demos Unearthed), a collection of demos I made in 1999 in preparation for making what would become the Well album. If you are familiar with Bandcamp, and my BC site, you know that there are quite a few other exclusive items available there, too–take a look!

Super Triple-Bill at Red Clay Music Foundry, September 15

I look forward to returning to one of the best venues anywhere, Eddie Owen’s Red Clay Music Foundry, in Duluth GA, on September 15. I’ll be trading songs with two of my favorite Nashville song slingers, Amelia White and Jon Byrd. Amelia recently returned from a successful UK tour, promoting her latest release, Rocket Rearview. Critic Jim Hynes included Rearview in his Best of 2022 list. Jon has a new full-length release, titled All Your Mistakes. Yours truly wrote a song with Jon that’s on the record, called I’ll Be Her Only One. One of the best country voices anywhere, his sound is based in tradition but is distinctly his own.

North Georgia folks, and anyone else who’ll be in the area, I can’t stress enough how good, interesting, and fun this night will be–so, please, get your tickets now (and save 5 bucks)! Here’s the ticket link:

KG Quartet at Eastside Bowl, Friday September 22 (9-10:30 pm)
Americanafest will be at full tilt, so I hope you’ll join me, Joe V. McMahan, Ron Eoff, and Phil Leone for a long set at our neighborhood hang, Eastside Bowl! You just might hear some songs from my upcoming release . . .

KG opens for Shakespeare in the Park, Saturday September 23!
I’ll be playing a half-hour set at 6pm on the oneC1TY stage at Centennial Park here in Nashville, opening for yes, the bard of bards! For more info:

Thanks for reading! Really! See you soon, music lovers . . .

Love,
kg
