Iguanas and Todd Snider Tours / 11 From Kevin / Gloryland 10th Anniversary

Hi friends,

Let’s get down to it: LOTS of tour dates coming up, and I’m thrilled to finally be getting back out there. They’ll all be on the “tour” page here on the site, with ticket links, but here’s a basic breakdown of what’s happening and when:

Wed   3/9  (2nd SHOW ADDED!) The David Egan Songbook   Acadiana Center for the Arts   Lafayette, LA (KG & Joe V. McMahan w/house band)

Thurs 3/10   The David Egan Songbook   Acadiana Center for the Arts   Lafayette, LA (KG & Joe V. McMahan w/house band)

I’m pleased to be touring with my friends from New Orleans, The Iguanas! They will be my backing band, and will also play a set of their own.

Then I’m back out solo, joining my pal Todd Snider for some East Coast dates!

Wed 4/13   The Music Hall   Portsmouth NH

Thurs 4/14   Higher Ground Ballroom   S.Burlington, VT

Fri 4/15   Anthology   Rochester, NY

Sat 4/16   Gateway City Arts   Holyoke, MA

Sun 4/17   Atwood’s   Cambridge, MA *(KG solo; no TS)

Mon 4/18   Ram’s Head   Annapolis, MD

Thurs 4/21   Sherman Theater   Stroudsburg, PA

Friday 4/22   Ashland Theatre   Ashland, VA

Sat 4/23   Reeves Theater   Elkin, NC

And then I think I’ll lie down for a while and not move . . .

My good friend Julie Christensen continues to set the world on fire with her latest release, “Eleven From Kevin: Songs of Kevin Gordon.” I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it a thousand times again–I’m completely blown away that such a fine artist, singer, and songwriter would not just record ONE of my songs, but ELEVEN (okay, there’s really twelve . . . but that doesn’t rhyme so well with my first name)! Check it out!

Can you believe that TEN years ago this week my Gloryland album was released? I’m kinda having a hard time with it, myself. But it’s true. On Valentine’s Day, 2012, I played a memorable release show in New Orleans, at Chickie Wah Wah. A few days later the band and I were blazing up the east coast, playing shows; during the days I was doing things like being interviewed at great length by The New York Times, and appearing as a guest on NPR’s Here and Now, with host Robin Young. It was the first time I’d received that kind of national media attention, thanks principally to Nick Loss-Eaton and the other members of my team. Though I’m not exactly flying around in private jets with Snoop Dogg, I can say that things have never been the same since Gloryland came out. I’m lucky that I’ve been able to write songs and make records which many folks seem to appreciate, and I’m pleased that the music gets noticed. I’ll be writing more about this anniversary in the coming months.

Looks like “the weather” out there is getting better . . . but y’all stay safe, aight? Hope to see you out there, somewhere!

Love,

Kevin
